A scheduled speech by New York Federal Reserve Bank President William Dudley on Tuesday in Stamford, Conn. has been cancelled due to the inclement weather, the bank said in a statement. Fed watchers typically pay close attention to Dudley’s views, in part because he is seen as a close confidante of Fed Chief Ben Bernanke. Dudley is a permanent voting member of the Fed’s interest-rate setting committee.
