SAN FRANCISCO Sales of videogame software fell 29% during the month of June, according to data from the NPD Group released late Thursday afternoon. The drop was roughly in line with predictions from analysts for the month. Sales of game hardware slumped by 45% as the current generation of consoles continues to show their age. The top three titles for the month on a unit basis were “Lego Batman 2 DC Super Heroes” from Warner Bros. , “Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon: Future Soldier” from Ubisoft and “Diablo III” from Activision Blizzard . “Max Payne 3″ and “NBA 2K12″ from Take-Two Interactive also ranked in the top five titles for the month, according to NPD data.
