SAN FRANCISCO Blizzard Entertainment, a unit of Activision Blizzard , said Thursday afternoon that it has notified its players of unauthorized access to some accounts on its Battle.net online gaming network. Blizzard, which runs popular online and PC games such as “World of Warcraft,” “Diablo 3” and “Starcraft,” said the access included e-mail addresses as well as “cryptographically scrambled versions of passwords,” answers to personal security questions and “information relating to Mobile and Dial-In Authenticators.” The company added that credit card data does not appear to have been accessed. “Upon discovery of the unauthorized access, Blizzard took quick action to […]
